problem with rolex service centre in uk.... gold tarnished help

I have a rolex president day date,,,

I fell about a year ago and the watch went to rolex for repair.. £3500 worth of repair... it was in and out for the last year as they always seemed to sort something unecessary and the original damage still there..

I got the watch back about 4 months ago and on the flush fit they replaced there WAS A GREEN TINGE! contacted rolex whom advised to use toothbrush and fairy liquid.... never worked so went back again.

The watch came back and seemed ok, 2 weeks ago went into the box and the flush fit dront and rear is green tinged and off colour.

Rolex have had it for a wee k now there explanation""""" flush fits are kept in cold storage and depending on length of time can tarnish, we will now refurbish the full bracelet in a water chamber using electrolisi and this wont happen again !!!"""

I DONT BELIEVE THEM IS THIS COCK AND BULL STORY? NEVER HEARD OF A NEW PIECE OF GOLD TARNISHING ... HELP?

Gold CAN tarnish! So don't worry.

There was a thread about this "tarnishing issue" some days ago.

I will try finding it for you.

I just noted that you "double-threaded", so above is my response from the other identical thread.

Yes there is a possibility that gold can tarnish. It is also possible to restore its finish to the way it looked before though. Im sure you can be able to restore the finish on it.

Gold can also fade slightly over time but that can also be restored.
