Several OEM Buckle Questions
I have a few questions about the OEM buckles that come with new historic series PAMs. I've seen these called "Pre-V", but everything I've read makes it sound like we're actually in the "V" era, so I'm not sure how they qualify as "Pre". In any case, the ones I'm talking about are these:
Obviously you can swap the buckle with other straps, but since I often am fickle in the morning about which strap I want to wear, it would be great to have a few of these to have mounted "just in case". While I have other aftermarket and generic buckles of the same style, I've found that all of those cast/stamped/etc. versions just feel cheap compared to the real thing. So, here are my questions: 1) Can you buy "just" the buckle? 2) If so, does anyone have a guesstimate of how much one might run new? 3) Does Panerai make an OEM buckle in this style but in 24mm width? One thing that's always bothered me is so many aftermarket straps are 24/24, which means I can't use the OEM even if I wanted to. Obviously, some have sewn-in buckles (which I really don't like, for this reason if nothing else) but for the ones that take a screw-in, I'd really prefer to go OEM all the way. Thanks for indulging me! |

1. Yes
2. about US$200, I don't remember the actual price 3. Panerai don't make any screw in 24 mm buckle. I believe they do have a sewn in 24 mm buckle from the MX style strap, but that buckle is not for sale in general public either. |

Cool...thanks! Bummer on the 24mm though.
One follow-up-seems like I've seen some buckles somewhere that have the "OP" logo on them. Can you order them from Panerai as well, or were those also something special? |

Not that I am aware of. The only buckle you can buy at AD or boutique is the 22 mm and 26 mm screw in buckle. I am not too sure about the availability of 20 mm buckle for purchase because I never buy a 40 mm Panerai.
