Hi Elizabeth,
Welcome to the forum. It's sometimes hard to tell from a photo, but I think I'd be a little cautious. The position of the coronet is a bit concerning. Also, ifthis is a plastic crystal watch the marking "swiss made" is a bit odd. Vintage dials usually say T SWISS T or SWISS T<25. Here is my wife's circa 1977 big crown. The bracelet is a latter replacement. |

Again, what Mike says is good advice. Here is a photo of an authentic Lady DJ (I'm not certain of the production date of this piece), but they have not changed much over the years. It looks substantially different from the one in your photo.
It is my humble opinion that the watch in your photo is a fake. I would stay away from it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you...I had my doubts about this watch although the asking price was enticing! I will keep looking for another watch for Mom.
Wow, that was a close one! My absolute favorite watch right now is my ss/18k midsize Yacht-Master with blue face, but Mom thinks the size is too big for her. I told her that's the style right now, but I guess everyone has their own preferences. I was told that the two tone full size Yacht-Master didn't come out until this year. Is that true? Just curious... P.S. Still lovin' the smileys |

I'm now almost 100% sure that watch you've posted above is a very cheap fake. That's right...not even a good fake....a pretty crappy one....so just stay away from that one!! The full-size (40 mm) gents TT YM was introduced in early 2005. The mid-size YM you're asking your mother to get is 35 mm. Perhaps she will be more comfortable with the TT YM lady's size - 29 mm. My wife has this one and it's a beauty. Some pics for you!! This one is the grey dial. It's also available in white, blue and champagne dials. ...and next to my ex TT YM (40 mm)

Where is the seal on the twinlock ? Does it have an O ring in the crown. I cannot see it.

However, all Rolex Oysters have a ring inside the crown. You cannot see it unless you take the crown right off. When a Rolex goes in for service, the entire crown and stem are replaced. JJ
