price of Rolex Yachtmaster II TT

I was looking through the for sale section and i saw a unworn Yachtmaster II TT ref. 116681 for 22,500$ being sold by a legit source. Is it me or is that a bit much for a TT watch. What makes this model worth so much?????

Yes it's a pretty expensive TT watch. In the eye of the beholder whether it's worth it . . . not for me.

The movement is one of the more complicated movements rolex has ever made.
Its the most expensive TT rolex ever I think and at 22500 its not a bad deal I think msrp is over 25k

You are right, best movement in my opinion, had a YG version and had lost around 2 seconds in two weeks!

If it goes for sale around the 18K mark, then I would be tempted. Current prices are still at premium and at 25.5k MSRP there is still a long way to go,

Definitely the movement. This is Rolex's attempt at a high-end movement, they've done a superb job on it. No one else makes a complication like this, it is a truly unique watch

I made a fatal mistake yesterday while trying a couple of watches out of asking to see the fresh TT YMII they had in the window...

No sadly this is not a post were I say it left the AD with me.. After drooling and picking my tongue off the floor my wife pulled away with my wallet intact. Well in all honestly it is out of my league and just a dream, but for them few minutes it look good..

Think the price was £17,600 or close enough not to matter.

Thanks for all the information.
Having such a unique movement and charging 10k more, it should be refined and put on display via clear case back. like most high end watches. Just my noobish opinion of course.

Beautiful watch with an incredible movement but the retail price is just a little less than an all gold GMTIIC. To me that is a little ridiculous.

that place has some cool watches but all are over priced. They actually had a decent deal on a decently new zenith daytona but they wanted like 10.5k without box and papers. They also had a nice perpetual calendar PP last time I went in.

YES, crazy high IMHO for a TT Rolex but we shall see if they sell... I guess that will determine if I am crazy or if Rolex is

Luxury items are often aspirational purchases and prices being charged do not always equate to anything in regards to the actual material or labor involved in creating the item itself.

Somtimes it's just the price point for whatever the reason the manufacture believed it best to charge for that item.
