Agree with others, seals are gone and needs a service. Should be some degree of waterproofness even when crown is unscrewed.

AD called today with an estimate and suggested I sit down
It'll cost me $1500 to get it all serviced and squared away. This includes a service, new crystal, possibly new crown (i can't remember), polish and a new face. They said I need a new face because the water damages the lume, which will flake and disrupt the movement. I was really hoping it would have come in around 1/2 that number. Oh well it's an expensive watch month. I added a new PAM to the collection and get to overhaul my sub |

Well I finally got a chance to go in to talk to the AD and watchmaker. It's going to take about 6 weeks soup to nuts (acquiring new dial and bezel). I told them there was no rush.
It should almost be like getting a new watch when it is done. I am strangely excited to get the whole thing refreshed! |
