My iPad 1 half died last month, half the screen went black. 4 months out of warranty. Fix it for $419 or buy new ipad2 for $499. So I bought a new iPad 2! My timing sucks! We're a 2 iPad house as I got the hubby one for Christmas. 2 IPads, 2 iPhone 4s. When his windows laptop (that we now rarely use) dies, we will buy a MacBook.

So funny I ordered one, have a perfectly good iPad 2, but always must have latest

Think the 4G will be neat. Other than that the same (don't care about display).

Wasn't sure how to actually get the youtube clip into this blog but thought this would be enjoyed. I'm sure it's gone around the web to many already.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0FVm...ature=youtu.be

Translation (if correct is on the site)
Daughter: By the way dad, how do you manage with the new i-Pad we gave you at birthday?

Dad: Good

Daughter: And you are doing fine with all the apps?

Dad: What apps?

Dad: What's up?

Got one as well. Never had the iPad add I wanted one with high res. It's just a tad too heavy for me especially laying in bed. I loved the portability off my og 7" Sammy tab. I wish they made this lighter than the iPad 2. Loving the screen though.

Just got the wifi cuz I can tether with my galaxy nexus for free. Sweet.

Tap'd from my G-Nex

Bought my iPad third Generation friday and the screen is worth every penny... This is truly a great machine... This is trifecta in my house as we now have one of each generation. Apple has truly convinced the world how to view it! Just wait until they get into mechanical watches!

Does the new iPad run a little hotter? Mine feels a little warmer than the iPad 2.

How is the WiFi reception on the new ones?
I find both of our 2's are a bit weak.

I got mine yesterday, the screen is awesome, and the processor is noticeably faster. The rear camera is a significant improvement as well. Was it worth the upgrade from the iPad 2? Not really, unless your an electronic guru like me....then it's cool. The new iPad HD is a bit thicker and slightly heavier but still an overall great product.

Can I talk you out of it, Paul? I got a Toshiba tablet about 6 months ago, thinking I would replace my Fujitsu notebook. Think again. I got the Toshiba over the iPad because the Toshiba has USB and HDMI ports. The WP app is not up to Word by any stretch of the imagination. It's not as easy to type on a tablet as it is on a regular keyboard. You can't view multiple documents on the screen at the same time (no split screen capability).

I use Citrix to access my network when I'm travelling. It's not nearly as friendly on a tablet as it is on a notebook with mouse capability.

I just ordered a new Fujitsu T730 tablet notebook with a 12.1" screen, 8 Gig of memory, 500G Hard Drive, Intel Core i5 processor, 2.4G processor speed, built in optical DVD R/W drive, Windows 7 64 bit OS, and all the other goodies you typically find on a notebook. It should be here in a few days. I'm thinking it will run rings around iPads and other tablets.

I would say no also Paul, if you need it for I.T, utp port, usb ports, telnet, cisco stuff, stick with your windows laptop. Not saying all that is not possible on apple devices, you'll end up ripping your hair out trying to figure out how to do it.

Ipad/mac is soooo much better for non work/I.T stuff though, internet, photo/movies, all the apps.

But the problem with the iPad and all the other tablets is that they are big. The nice thing about the smartphone is that it's small enough to hold in one hand and use discretely. Tablets are highly noticable. You can still play Angry Birds, poker, solitaire and a host of other games on the phone. You can even watch movies on the phone. In fact, just about anything you can do for entertainmant on the tablet, you can do on the phone.

True, but with my aging eyes I am finding I am using my iPad more for email, games, calendars... and get this, using my phone to make phone calls more & more.

We like that there are a number of games where my wife & I can play each other ( Cribbage) for eg, where we each use our own ipad.

Los like someone already hacked the new iPad. Can't wait till it's published . I was afraid this will take as long as the 2 did.

Only graphics processor was upgraded , otherwise no change.

I am keen to change once it arrives here ,so curious in what way you notice the processor improvment . Looking for reasons to upgrade with justification

John, what do you mean you use your phone to make calls?!!! That's not what it's meant for. You should know that.

It seems you are not the only one. A lot of people are reporting that the new Ipad is running hot.

I played with the new gen iPad this weekend, and I must say I was very impressed! I have the original iPad and love it. I didn't feel like the second gen iPad was enough of an improvement to warrant upgrading, but this one may have changed my mind.

The screen is unbelievably clear and the processor is quick! I also like the new photo apps and the fact that it's 4G LTE.

I am taking mine back tonight and swapping for an LTE model.
Still not sure why I am doing that since I get unlimited LTE hotspot from work.
