I was talking more about the trading of worthless mortgages bundled up and coated in AAA rated ones.......no one cared to unravel the bundles to see what they were buying and selling, a bit like having a box of replica rolexes with a few on top so as when the box is opened it appears to be healthy. Any normal person would empty the box and check the lot.
