No official list right now, but a number of watches I still wouldn't mind owning.
So many nice watches, so little time.

I think I have already worn my wife down and she doesn't even notice anymore..... For example, not even a single comment about my new JLC Deep Sea Tribute.....
In terms of next on the list...... Vintage wise.... DRSD PN Daytona Newish.... Something from Patek possibly Nautilus but still thinking....... |

These are the most wanted for me.
116610 LV 216570 116233 116610 LN After that, I think I will call it a collection. If I were to move forward from there it would be in the Vintage realm as I have most of the Modern Day Rolex references. |

Well, I am in a lot of trouble now. I stopped by my local AD today and tried on a handful of watches. As always, they are always very accommodating and patient. While I had an early GMT on my list, I must say that the latest iteration of this watch is absolutely wonderful. This was the first time I'd tried on any new Rolex since the mid-1980's. The new bracelets and clasps are stout and rugged and since I love green, I was smitten with the green hour hand.
I already have a black-faced sports Rolex so now what? I couldn't stop there so guess what else I tried? Yup, and EXP-II. Black face...oh my. I never really paid that much attention at all to the Explorer II...until this weekend. I, for once, did not have to work, which is quite odd given my chosen career as a public servant, relegated forever to shift work but...this weekend was an exception. The only caveat? My wife had to work all day Saturday...something that never happens. So, with that in mind, I snuggled up to my laptop with a variety of bevvies and snacks and immersed myself in as much knowledge of Rolex as I could find. What I did stumble upon was a wonderful write-up on the Orange Hand Explorer II on Double Red Seadweller. Don't ask my why, but the 1655 caught my eye. Owning one of these beauties is nothing short of a grail piece for me so I decided to look at the latest offering. Why I'm drawn to this watch is beyond me. It's similar, yet so different than the GMT, which makes me wonder if I need (Ha! Ha!...should have put "need" in italics!) a 3-time zone watch. Hmm...best to scratch the GMT-II off the list and replace it with an EXP-II. It's got to be the orange hour hand with that huge arrow head! I know, I know...no pictures so it didn't happen. I hope to take my wife back to the AD to get her take on a watch for her, purely browsing, of course. I need to know if she wants a 26mm watch or a 31mm one...I'll snap pictures at that point. Also smiiten by: Daytona 115520 (can you see a patten with stainless, Oyster bracelets and black dials? I never much cared for TT watches but today I tired on a TT Datejust, fluted bezel, Oyster bracelet, black sunburst dial with Roman markers. WOW! Truly a beautiful watch... This list business isn't easy! |

I'm very interested in seeing the 114060, but it is not on my list.
I would love to have the opportunity to see the new Tudor diver's, but that's unlikely to happen. I don't know if I'd ever buy one, but they do interest me a great deal. If I had $50,000 I'd be on the list for an SKD.

my only real hope for another would be to sell mine and put it towards a YG DDII. No real interest in any others.

My wife will give me $7000 end of this month as my birthday gift(3/6). So it's either the GMT II C or the YM.

I'm glad to see the Sky Dweller on some lists here... I was worried I was the only one who liked it! I've got nothing on the list right now... unless I were to win the lottery Then I think there would be a few PP's and Lange's on the list

Short term...EXPI and Black Bay. I wanted a Tudor Snowflake but the BB will quench my thirst.
Long term...EXPII (black dial) and GMT...however...it's not like collecting Rolex will ever go out of style so years down the road I would like to add a vintage piece or two...ideally birthyear watches. |

1. Pelagos
2. Tudor Snowflake -- I keep putting it off and the timing never seems right! Getting the Pelagos will satisfy my need for a dive watch and keep me patient enough to find it's granddad. 3. Birth year Pepsi. |

Short list (Target Date 30th birthday, September 2012):
1. Explorer II 216570 white dial. I REALLY want this watch, but the thread about the new Explorer bracelet concerns me. I will go to the AD tomorrow and actually try it on for the first time and will know whether to eliminate it from my list or pull the trigger in our for sale forum. 2. Newer gold Day-Date with engraved rehaut on Presidential bracelet. Undecided on yellow or rose gold, and dial color. Definitely want stick markers with tiny roman numerals on the outer edge of the dial. Eventually: 1. Turn-O-Graph 116264, SS/WG on Super Jubilee with blue dial, or white if the Explorer II above doesn't work out. This watch is buy on sight for me and I have already allocated funds separately from my watch fund to pay for this piece anytime it becomes available. - Submariner 116610LV (by St. Patrick's Day, 2013) - Submariner 14060M COSC - Submariner 116613 Blue - Submariner 116619 - GMT-Master IIc 116718LN Green dial I'm sure there will be future amendments to this list, especially the more I read about vintage references, but I think that's a good start for now. |
