Nice phone but until it's got 3G (or better yet 3.5G) capability, I'm not touching it.

My 3.5G palm treo goes for a week without re-charging. And yes, that includes phone calls, texts, MMS etc.

The problem is how power hungry the iphones are - and their battery technology is 2nd rate.

Shoppy;

Total ditto. Mac guy since 1985 and I waited to buy the Iphone til last weekend. I'm totally impressed with it. Much more productive and condusive to business discourse with this phone. Parked my Treo 750, no regrets... Very good as Ipod, camera and internet surfing device as well. Plus it impresses the clients. I have an email signature that says "sent by the alien technology inhabiting the Iphone of Ldmarcht" people love that and always respond to it.....

I want one so bad, but in canada we dont get them yet. I know for most of us its a useless and a trio or palm is more useful in that there are more 3rd party software companies making tools for them.

But then I look on my wrist and ask if I really need a $5K or $10K piece of metal to tell time with LOL It would be another one of those toys I spend my money on that I dont really need

Here might be something interesting for you Iphone enthousiasts.

Translated it from Dutch so don't go throwing stones if ye find mistakes

Apple works on a distribution model for iPhone software of third parties, which have been inspired on the distribution method which uses t t-Mobile for its sidekick' tel./pda-combo, according to 9to5mac. t t-Mobile, the software side of the company Danger has boarded, and according to reports Apple developers of this company have engaged in helping to form the distribution model for the iPhone. It would be a system where developers can request a special key to open the apparatus for writing applications, which then will be evaluated at Apple and tested. If the programm survives that procedure, it is incorporated in the iPhone application catalog, and owners can order the software. These are then sent by means of iTunes-accounts of the subscriber, but invoicing by means of the local iPhone provider is also a possibility. According to the site, Apple will be choosing for this evaluation - and distribution method not only stability guarantees for the apparatus, but with this the company also improves on catching a percentage of the application turnover. Apple hopes that within manageable time, there will be an iPhone-SDK in the pipe line. These would be made only available to developers who have built already strong links with the company. Some think that after the arrival of its Leopard-OS, which they will give later this month, more clarity on iPhone-sdk to Apple will be present, because the apparatus would strongly be grafted on that DC.
