Rolex Submariner Ref: 5512 4 line gilt chapter ring PCG Tropical Dial from 1959
Rolex Submariner Ref: 5512 4 line gilt chapter ring PCG Tropical Dial from 1959
Serial #: 554657 Case: Excellent PCG worn but the original bevels are still visible with one of the nicest ghost grey inserts I have ever seen. The inside of the case back is stamped 111. 59 Dial : Exceptional gilt chapter ring tropical dial. Very uncommon super early 2 color gilt dial where the word Submariner is gold and the remaining three bottom lines are silver. The dial is spiderwebed very evenly while the brown color is not yet completely aged to give it a fantastic "tiger" finish. The luminous on the dial is remarkably even and the Tritium hands match the dial. Bracelet: Excellent/Very Good 9315 with 380 end pieces with 12 links Accessories: none Offered at: $24,500 This is one exceptionally rare and beautifully aged 5512. But don't just take my word for it: "Most tropical dials go brown, and end up looking like this. The Submariner we've found here didn't really go brown, as much as it went totally loco. The seller is calling it "tiger", others would call it "spider-web," we are just calling it straight up awesome." - Benjamin Clymer http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/2011/7/...l-ever-se.html Feel free to call me at (415) 260-9129 or email me at [email protected] with any questions that you may have. I am an IWJG member in good standing. References upon request. Buyer pays for shipping. Inspection period of three days given and returns accepted for any reason. Full refund minus shipping and insurance fees. Thanks, Jacek |
