Here you have the OEM I have on my 177. It is not the strap that comes with the watch, but the one that comes with the 351. I love it :)

Key is don't force it and let it occur naturally. The ONLY thing I did was put a little water on it.

I got water splashed on the strap and it left some droplet marks on the strap. I decided to make it even. I got a fine mist spray bottle and lightly misted the strap and wiped the water off immediately with a micro fiber (lint-less) cloth. Other than that, just natural oil and dirt is bring out the patina.
