Using cape cod polish on white gold?

Just a quick question,

I was told that it might remove the rhodium plating on the white gold if i use it on the white gold part of the watch, does it mean i shouldn't or its only bad if I use it constantly?

Apparantly, the WG that Rolex uses is NOT Rhodium plated, so I guess you could use Cape Cod on it.

IF you choose to use CC on it, try it out on a place you don't see all the time.

But really, I would suggest leaving scratches alone and let your RSC or Rolex-trained watch maker polish the watch up for you at the next service.

They know how to do it the right way, and if anything "wrong" happens, it will be THEIR responsibility, not yours.

Just my 2 cents.

Let the experienced watch maker at the RSC do it for you. As I said, if he messes anything up, HE has the responsibility

Yes, you can, just as long as you are careful not to polish it too vigorously, deshaping the gold.

Here are some tutorial on how to use the Cape Cod cloth:

Removing Scratches From The Polished Center Link Of A Rolex Oyster Bracelet. CLICK!

German and more thorough tutorial, but with more pics. CLICK!

But I will REPEAT: My advice is to NOT MESS WITH YOUR ROLEX! Let your AD/RSC do it for you (not messing it up, but fix it professionally! ).

Yes I agree with Bo. I would leave all the polishing work to the RSC. If you clean your Rolex using just soap and lukewarm water like just once a week, it will still look so nice and clean that you wouldnt even have to bother with polishing it.

And about scratches, who cares. They give the watch character.

Good links, Bo, even BETTER advice! Let your RSC do it professionally, don't worry about the scratches, it gives your watch, character.
