I read somewhere that you can point your GMT towards the sun and the GMT hand will point towards north. Does anyone have the exact procedure? What does the GMT hand and bezel configuration have to be? And exactly how to you "aim your watch at the sun? " Someone knows.

Each clock l? use as compass, if the sun shines (and only then). With the GMT and Explorer II the 24-Stunden-Zeiger functions as compass needle, in addition, with every other clock funktionierts. The "normal" pointer of hour to the sun align.
The 24-Stunden-Zeiger is then the compass needle and shows accurately to the north (if the location in the Northern Hemisphere is, otherwise the pointer points to S?n).

Connect mental the center of the clock with the number 12 by a line.
The half angle between the meant line and the pointer of hour points to S?n.
