Private sale of 2009 SS Daytona?

What in your opinion is a fair price from a private individual, selling a 2009 SS Daytona with all boxes, papers and tags. It is the original owner? Thanks

Check "for sale" section here and this will give you an idea of the true market value

That should be a V series, which put you in the 10k range.

Also depends on condition of the watch... agree that it would make sense to check out the FS section.

I'm thinking anything under $10k is pretty good price.

No offense, but I looked at the for sale forum again, and most of those prices are not realistic IMO. I agree with the others that said anything under 10K is good.

X2. The reason they are marked at those prices is because that pretty much what they sell for. I said $10k good price. $11k isnt rediculious IMO.

If you can find a V series with the newer clasp as a full set for $10k, that's a fair deal to be had. I'd do it.

I am buying and I can buy what you describe for 9K. That is a fair price for a three year old watch in today's economy. There is no shortage of Daytonas in any flavor you want. The market is flooded with for sale ads, but the ones that set their price at $10,000+ for a used watch and tell you what a good deal it is, are not getting any takers. After reading the posts, I called the seller and bought his watch.

A person in need will sell for $9K.
Try buying it for $9K everyday and it is not going to happen.
There are good deals and these are far and few between.

When did the new clasp come out? Can't seem to find reference to it..
Congrats to OP on your purchase.

I guess I was at the right place at the right time. Seller was not in need but quite wealthy.

Good job - sounds like you bought a nice full pkg Daytona for $500 - $1,000 below current market price.

Thanks, I think I did alright too. It is the first "new" Rolex I have bought. My GMT is a 1675 that I bought new over thirty years ago. My 1601 TT Datejust is from 1972. By the way the GMT Master was $575.00 when I bought it.
