Some of those Perth GTG threads make me think there's some TRF magic in the air down under.

Hey Lisa, I had a go at Ebb Tide today for you. I'm hoping this was a request on the piano, and I got the song right, otherwise I'm gonna look a bit of a donut.

Don't worry didn't spend long on it, as you can probably tell. Hope you like.

The last Perth GTG ended in an antipodean orgy... And I've got the pic to prove it...!

You.... you did that... for me?

Oh, you got it right, all right! That was beautiful. Thank you!

My husband walked by as I was listening to you... he said, "Isn't that the song you're always trying to play? So that's what it's supposed to sound like."

Well, theres a few dodgy notes as it builds. Next time ask for some coldplay or Adele, I can do that.

You play a bit? Think I saw you had a grand in a pic?

I thought it sounded terrific - were you familiar with the song before? It's an oldie - from 1953.

We do have a 1929 Baldwin baby grand. It had been restrung and restored not long before we bought it. I'd wanted a piano for a long time, both as an antique and in the hopes that one of my three girls would take an interest in playing. I'd had lessons briefly as a kid, and played violin for a few years after that, but had all but forgotten how to even read music. So I'm trying to re-learn as time permits. And I'm lousy.

I can't talk any more, though... I'm blushing and getting flustered.

I had never heard it before, just got some sheets, and listened to some of the versions. Seems like it's been covered by a few people.

You should definitely get your girls some lessons, although soon enough you'll be screaming "shut the hell up" when they are bashing it, just like my parents did when I was younger.
