Hi all . Let me reassure you this is not a troll post. Recently went to s/pore...i spotted less rolexes in the wild than my last trip..which is kinda weird as my previous trip was just a few months back... almost every other corner i can spot 1 last time. Just like to know whether its the same in other places...

Perhaps it was just one of those days/couple of days. I do not see Rolex watches that often here either if it can reassure you.

Price increases do that...My next step was a Pepsi but now it will have to wait quite sometime now...

In NY I have been seeing more Audemars, PAMs, and IWC's in the wild... I don't think the Rolex "hotness" will ever fade it may be that folks are enjoying other brands as well

thats what im thinking as well...i spotted more..PP..JLC..PAM and AP more for my recent trip...lots packed into other brands AD than rolex AD on this trip..wondering whats really going on...

Maybe just luck of the draw? Either too many Rolexes seen last time or not as much this time?

I just don't see the market shifting THAT much in a few months.

luck eh..hmmmm..i thitnk i do agree on the spotting as well..

one of my friend working in s/pore said he noticed the trend also...he said loads of chinamen use to get rolexes ..but more and more heading towards other brands...

Is Rolex hotness fading???? From your mouth to the watch god's ears...I hope so....then maybe their prices will fall to where we real Rolex afficionados can enjoy them without selling valuable body parts.

Here on the Italian Riviera Rolex can be found on almost every other wrist. Never seen so many in on area. Mostly Subs, GMTs, Exp IIs, and Daytonas. Bellissimo!

Here in Melbourne, I hardly ever see a nice watch on anyone, very seldom I see a Rolex. That being said, I don't go around looking at people's wrists .....

I think that interest and ownership in watches may be growing. That growth could be propelling the popularity of other brands beyond the traditionally most popular ones (like Rolex, Omega, Tag...).
If that's true, it might explain why we are seeing more AP, PP and other high end watches.
For myself, I'd really like to pick up a JLC someday. I love my Rolexes, but my interest is evolving and I enjoy other brands as well.

I wouldn't say they are fading but other watches are getting more popular. Celebrities wearing AP's and RM's (Nadal for instance) have given other brands more clout. The watch pool is more diverse shall we say which is a good thing if you ask me.

More people will of heard of Richard Mille after hearing Nadal was wearing a $500,000 dollar watch to play tennis. Most people would google it to see what it was that made it cost so much.

Depends on where you are I guess. In Sweden Omega is way more common in my experience. In Italy, as Dan Pierce stated above, Rolex are everywhere.

Agreed. I have been seeing a ton of other brands in NYC as well. PAMs especially.

First of all, Rolexes were never hot. Hot is a fad that soon passes.
I do see quite a few of them at airports and at the malls.

Infact when I see people wearing them, there is no excitement on my end to go approach them or compliment them. Depends on where you live, but Rolex watches have become quite mainstream nowdays. Mostly I see datejusts and subs.

I have come to realize that you should wear what you like, regardless of the brand.
There are plenty of other brands I wear as well also. I used to think that Rolex was well above and beyond others but that is not entirely true. There are other brands that come pretty darn close for less.
