Anyone have one of the new Perpetual Date's (34mm) with solid bracelet?
We ordered my wife's about 4 weeks ago and havent gotten a call yet. Then I just realized that I haven't really seen one around on these boards or in real life. Certainly no AD i've been to actually had one of the new ones in stock. I'm referring to the 34mm date with solid bracelet and polished center links.
thx!

No, I haven't seen it, either. Only the pic of it on the Rolex website.
Of course it is a matter of personal preference, but I for my part do not like the "updates" that the AK, Perpetual and Date became. But it seems that this is the way Rolex is going (no intention to point to my signature quote)

I actually like the update for my wife's watch. the polished center links give it more bling which she likes. and the bracelet is supposedly solid. just wondering what it is about the updates that you dont like .
I'll post a lot of photos once we get it. Not knowing much about the older versions of the AK, perpetual and date, I probably wont be able to spot the differences.

The new updated AK's, Perpetuals and Dates have more dial options and have a larger case. Also the centre links (solid) are polished and the lugs are polished as well. The bracelet also has SEL's. The bezel is also more domed (round) than on the old ones.
Here is a pic of the OLD AK (note the brushed lugs, "sharp" bezel, non SEL's and matte bracelet):

She went for the black dial, with arabic numbers and diamonds. It's a little odd though - there's only 5 diamonds @ the 2,4,6,8,10 locations.

the new Air King looks and feel great. I bought one for my mother for her birthday. I was planning on getting her an Explorer, but the new Air King's bracelet and clasp sold me; they felt much more substantial than the Explorer and movement is now COSC as well. I also thought she would like the pink dial more than the black one.
