SEL on EXP-II?
Anyone know which year or serial number should have started seeing the SEL bracelet on the Exp-II?

Varies depending on the reference. A series GMTs had them. P series EXP IIs did. The SD had them in 1980 with the 16660.

I thought it was around 2000. So what does that say if I see an EXP-II listed at a REPUTABLE used dealer as 2006 w/o SEL? Should I assume it sat on a shelf for six years? Is it usual for sports models to have parts swapped at pre-owned dealers?

It is unusual for an EXP II to have sat on a shelf for several years, although not unheard of.
A 2006 model Exp II would generally carry a D prefix, I have one and it does have the hollow link SEL bracelet. Ask him for the serial number.. No reason it can't be given to you Anything after 2001 would have a K, Y, F, or D prefix, and it should have the SEL bracelet fitted. Otherwise someone has probably swapped it out, kept the SEL and fitted the non-SEL for the sale.. |

I don't think a non-SEL bracelet would fit on a watch-case designed to take on the SEL bracelet....so swapping wouldn't be an option. Just my 2 cents. JJ

I´m with Mike on this one. GMT II got SEL at late A serial and EXP II
at the start of P serial. Just my 2 cents. Jocke |

Cross referencing that up to the GMT 16710 with the same bracelet, it would seem that the 62510H Jubilee bracelet with 502B endlinks would fit on your/and my EXP II... |

Search function works!!
I checked it out again after looking at this thread
http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...ght=solid+link And it looks like it is an SEL. Must be listed wrong. |

I think it's an F, but the listing doesn't specify. Just browsing...but I love this watch. Helps to be able to spot a good deal--and when I do, I'll be a two-Rolex owner!!
