Thanks for the reality check Sam.

Looked at a VC Overseas yesterday retail was $14.6K on a 3 hand date watch, no dual time complication in Australia.

It under whelmed me, I didn't want it too. Looks like I will be leaning toward a 116570 noir in the future.

Oh yeah, Sam for President!

Beautiful picture Sam! I know prices are always going up and am always surprised when I hear about them since it seems like they happen quite often but at the end of the day it seems like it's going up just like everything else. Let's just enjoy our watches and have a lot of fun!

P.S.: Of course, I'd like to bargain that AP a little bit...would they accept 150$ and a pack of bubblegum?

What drives me mad is people using the word 'greed' when Rolex put their price up every year.

The same 'greed' drives me to work harder in order to buy my first Porsche and Rolex!

The cause of price increases in US is mostly due to the exchange rate between the $ and CHF and the rising price of precious metals. There also has to be a global balancing of prices to avoid the grey market issues of early 2000's. Add in emerging markets with higher disposable income where you can make full margin, and you can see why the US market is suffering a little.
