New (to me) matte 666 seadweller!!!
Hello All,
Last Friday I picked up a low 8.0M serial matte 16660 seadweller. I am turning 30 this year and wanted a 666 that was approximately made in 82/83ish like me. Because I have large wrists, I needed to pick up one more link which fortunately I was able to find at the local watch store. Finally was able to fit the new guy on my wrist and have been smiling all afternoon. Nice patina and the watch is in very good shape for something this old. I am suprised that it seems to have more presence than my Sub LV. Not quite as much present as my DSSD, Big Pilot or Panerais, but I can live with that. I plan on keeping this for a loooooong time. |

Hello, new to the forum, but a proud Rolex owner for the last 15 years.
I am just getting into vintage pieces, as both mine (YG Day/Date, and GMT II-C) are very new. Love Rolex sport watches as the one posted above. My question to the regulars is, how can you tell the model on some of these, such as the "666" shown above without looking on the case itself. I am in the market for one, and trying to figure out the best way to spot a more desirable model, other than just the patina look of the dial. Maybe a dumb question, but I read the thread on the "Red" submariner last night and thought that info was invaluable. WHat about the sea-dweller? Many thanks in advance, and love the forum!!! |

Love it. The matte dial is wonderful and makes this a very distinctive reference. Congrats.
