As some of you may know I have been toying with the idea of trading my SS DJ, my U Serial 1998 Sub and cash for a brand new DSSD. I love the DSSD, I had one on and really liked it, the key to the trade is my sub, without it the AD is not interested int he trade, I had thought about keeping my sib and just adding more cash to the deal.

So, overall, should I keep my Sub and forget the DSSD, or make the trade and maybe get a newer Subc later down the road? I do like my Sub a lot and it was the first sub I bought, but the DSSD is a sweet watch.

I know this is subjective to each persons taste, but I am curious to see what you all think.

I do want the DSSD, but I guess there is some attachment to the sub since it was the first sub I ever bought.

Imo sell privately, buy the DSSD or Submarimer C with cash and hold out for a discount, especially on the DSSD.

Whenever one trades the ADs get you at both ends, just like trading in a car, you have no power. Eliminate the trade aspect and you have the upper hand.

Just my two cents and no offence to ADs, they have to make a living too.

Best case senario keep the classic Submariner, sell the DJ and save for the Ceramic model of your choosing. The DSSD may be too heavy and large for a one and only, but many members pull it off no problem. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Keep your 16610. That sentimental attachment that you mentioned will bother you more than you might think if you sell it. Save for the DSSD if you feel you have to have it...

The 16610 is an iconic classic, I think you would get tired of the DSSD everyday, after the newness wore off....

I don't understand collecting like that because they all look so similar to most people and you've spent the equivalent of a Patek on more watches which look the same.

I just traded in my TT Bluesy Sub on a DSSD.

If it's your everyday, keep the Sub, if its an option, go DSSD.

I agree with the comment about them looking alike, if I were to get the DSSD and trade the Sub, I would likely, maybe down the road, get the hulk sub, I like the green and it would be different.

It would be an everyday watch, I have had it on and it is bigger but I think I can handle it, I am 6' 3" so I am not small, so it does not look awkward but I will try it on again tomorrow.

They need to let me take it home for a week

Sub for me...I tried on the DSSD a few times and can't get over how top heavy it is. My AP ROO is a lot more comfortable.

Deep Sea is amazing, love the diameter compared to a regular sub. It's about 1-2 mm to thick, but I still love it

Range of opinions here, as expected. I love both. I was planning to sell my TT sub to fund the DSSD but couldn't pull the trigger for sentimental reasons, so I ended up with both in the end and I'm so glad I did, as I love both for slightly different reasons.
