im going on an island trip next week and i think i'll do a lot of water sports including snorkeling/diving...been torn between wearing my 14060M or G shock...im leaning towards the shockie as i dont want my 14060M to get scratch ..should I?

Sub will be fine as long as you're careful while diving. Will you be diving from a boat or off shore? If walking from shore, you'll likely get some fine scratches from the sand that gets churned up in the surf. If you want to be completely safe, just wear the G-Shock.

exactly what im afraid of....im still eager to test the Sub in the real enviroment...any sub owner brought the watch to dive and came up witout any scratches..??

Just do it man.....that's what these watches were built for.....live on the edge, it's more fun and remember every scratch tells a story......

Depends on the condition of the Sub ND and how you like your watches. I assume the Sub is mint. If that is the case, I would bring them both. When you go diving put on the Casio. If the Sub cannot be secured when you are out diving, then wear the Sub.

even though my 164 is not technically a "dive watch", PAMs have a naval history, so, i wore it on my first dive recently and it helped me bond with it even more. i like having the memories when i look at the watch here at work.

not sure what you could scratch against as long as you're not rummaging through coral or a shipwreck or something.

every time when i look at it i felt the guilt of treating it bad bringing it to the beach.....dont know why

It seems a shame not not take your dive watch on the dive trip

I guess it comes down to whether you really want to keep it mint, or have some memorable experiences with it

i actually brought it with me on a jungle river trip..went swimming with it..went tracking with it...but still cant seem to get through the phase of having it in salt water..

Just give it a good rinse after coming out of the salt water.

I would have thought all the activities you've already done with your watch would make diving pale in comparison!

yea..i just dont know why i cant seem to make up my mind bringing it to the beach

Take the Sub!

It will be fine. I took my vintage Omega Ploprof diving. No problems. Scratches are like age lines.

You can't avoid them.

Sub, I'm just back from 10 days in Ibiza, beach, diving, the lot, I just threw it (16610) on a NATO before I went for added security and never took it off, no problems at all.

I vote Sub, if it were gold that would be a different story. This is what it was meant for go and have fun. Or i guess you could pick up a used 16610 to take with you

It's not worth worrying yourself to death about. If a nick or scratch would ruin your trip, take the G-Shock and be done with it.

Wear it and don't look back!! I just got the new ExpyII and wore it boating last weekend in the Persian Gulf... no issues...although I did get a nice scratch on the clasp from bumpy water coming back to Bahrain....character mark!

Just rinse it with warm soapy water when you finish your daily adventures and she'll be good as new!!

Why is it OK to scratch you Casio...but not your Rolex?

Plastic scratches way more easily than steel.
