Cape cod cloth
I have some scratches on the HEV side of my SD 16600. This was caused by one of the watches bumping onto my Rolex while it was in the winder .
Which cape cod polishing cloth should I use for the SD16600's case side? Thanks.

From what I read before, and most likely I misunderstood, thought there were various finishes for each cloth. I will check again, thx.

It wouldn't be my choice - scratches on a crystal are usually deeper than the typical ones on metal that buff out with a Cape Cod. Diamond paste is the preferred material for that work.

Just polished my GMT bracelet with the Cape Cod cloth - only one type - It does a bang up job - just make sure to tape off your brushed areas of the bracelet and case!

Cape Cods work great on small scratches. You do have to realize however that each use removes a minute layer of the metal so don't overdo it, trying to maintain perfection.

I did try Cape Cod cloth on an old scratched Japanese crystal and it did nothing, so I ended up replacing the crystal. Try it but don't expect much.
I also transformed the brushed finish on that watch case to polished using the cloths. Man was that an improvement in that particular instance. |

The scratches on the HEV side is not deep. I'll give it a go.

I've heard good things about tooth paste on the acrylic crystals?

Might take forever with a cape cod, might be better to start with a more aggressive polishing compound then finish with a CCC. |

My experience is that the CC cloth will make the brushed bracelet slightly "brighter" IOW a bit more polished and less brushed, but NOT full high mirror type polish. I think you'd have a hard time getting to that point with a CC. The amount of metal removed is very minute.
