For Diving Watches: Does the bezel or the underside of the insert trap any water?
Hello,
I was just curious, lets say for the sub, does the bezel trap any water? OR is it designed such to let the water through for easy drying? Anyone knows? thanks, |

No.. there is no sealing around the bezel what-so-ever.. water flows in and water flows out..

No trapping of water - but the voids could hold sand, dirt, whatever, that you will regret later. A good freshwater rinse (or scrub, depending) after the dive might be in order!

I've been at the beach all week with my family and have been wearing my DSSD and exp II in the ocean the whole time. The DSSD definitely has water leaking from the insert long after I dry the rest of the watch while the exp II seems to stay dry. As soon as I get out of the ocean and back to my room they both get a soapy bath to get any salt and sand off. Still looking brand new so no worries. Just rinse it off and dry carefully.

Never noticed any leaking. I've dived with my sub to 30M.

Thank you guys for the info and for the defense against "stupid question" remark.
We're all here to learn -- some know more than us, some know less, but we are all in the same boat---- well considering how many members TRF has, it be would be more fitting to say "we're on the same luxury liner!" |
