DJs on leather straps / strap reccomendations.
I'm wanting a decent strap for my 1601 DJ.
The variety out there is obviously massive, and so is the range in prices. Anyone got any shots of theirs on leather so I can make a judgement? Also, is it just a 20mm I'll need then? |

20mm works, and I usually recommend 3 or 4mm thick at the lugs. The usual suspects (Hadley, Hirsch, Dimodell, etc.) all have decent straps for a DJ. You can find a nice gator for about $100 and lots of other dress or casual versions for $50 or less. You can also spend $300.

Any of the vintage straps from Jedi or tonez, from here on the forum, would be perfect. Throw in a Rolex buckle and a set of etur's end links and you have yourself a great piece of kit.

Here is my 1603 on a Hadley strap... it lasted about 3 minutes, then it was promptly put back on the Jubilee. Overall, I think either a Hadley or Hirsch would be a safe bet; both are affordable and over good overall quality.
