I think no human diver can actually go deeper than 300 m, does anyone know facts on this?

(Ofcourse i mean outside of submarines etc)

The world record for humans diving outside of hard suits is in excess of 500m, but I would not advise it. You would spend weeks in a recompression chamber.

Also, the guy that set the record was not like, hmm cant waer my sub there got to switch to the sd, and while he was at it

I was talking about the normal diver, does he need more than 300 m ? no

BUT, ofcourse we all know... 1220m is just plain COOL :D

If you're not going to use a recompression chamber, you don't need more than a Sub. There's no need for a helium escape valve.

I scuba dive with all of my Subs, even the '65 5512 and '66 5513. I have been to 5000m inside a submersible wearing my Sub, and to 4,000m wearing my SD, but the sphere was pressurized to one atmosphere. If there had been a loss of pressure, the depth rating would not have mattered.

2001, in the heart of the Bermuda Triangle. More specifically, in the Blake Basin north of the Bahamas and east of Florida.

Look at the depth guage on the upper left - 4913m. This photo was taken on the way up.

This is who I went with:

The guy on the right is the guy in the back of this photo. He unknowingly carried the watch above on the deep dive in 1960. The guy in the front didn't tell him it was strapped to the outside of the Trieste, nor would he have allowed it if he did know.

I have made five dives to depths in excess of 4,000m. I used to wear my original Sub Date on these and other expeditions, but I retired it in 2005 to give it to my son. Now I normally wear a SD which Rolex specially engraved for me with the Flag in the third photo prior to my last expedition.

I have also worn my Daytona to 4,000m, but I would rather not.
