Lucky watch anyone????
O.k., I will admit that this post may seem silly to many of you. As a guy who is firmly grounded in science I tend to believe that, for the most part, the things that happen to us in life...be they good or bad....are the result of our personal efforts and preparation. Having said that, I don't want to scoff at the impact that sheer luck plays in each of our lives. And, hey, who amongst us could use a little extra good fortune even if it is the result of just being "lucky" from time to time.
That being said, I was just curious if any of you have a particular watch in your collection that you wear on those special days when you are hoping for some good luck. Although I personally have a decent amount of timepieces in my collection, on those special days when I need everything to go just perfectly, I always wear my Sub 16610. Over the years, I just have come to believe that that particular watch is charmed and when I'm wearing it I know that somehow everything will turn out all right. It has seldom let me down! So, how about you? Do you have a special good luck watch in your collection? |

I have yet to find a lucky watch.
But I do have unlucky moments while wearing swatch IRONY watches and watches bought from one particular shop at home. Very consistent, I wonder why. So far no prob with my Rolexes, can't go wrong with them when so many sucessful owners out there! |

My father's late 1950's thunderbird. I've talked myself into believing it might be just a bit luckier-- kind of like a ball player who had a couple hits with a specific bat and doesn't want to upset a streak.

Yup. My Omega PO 2500. I narrowly escaped certain death in a near-miss car accident wearing this watch.
Basically, I was driving a 1972 MINI and narrowly missed being T-Boned by a Bus (which was coming towards me at 100km/h) by literally a mere split second. I was extremely lucky to have come out unhit. I was wearing my Omega PO 2500 at the time. Since then, it has become my Lucky watch, and is the one watch which I will never ever sell. |

Omega Seamaster Omegamatic - my 16th birthday present from mom, also the watch I wore to my first real job interview (second job interview, too), and got them.

I had a cheap Kenneth cole skeleton that I would wear as a sophomore in high school to all my exams. Every time I wore it I would do very well on the test. Then one time the lucky watch failed me and I just decided to wear the Rolex to tests lol

My first Rolex was a gift from my wife, a 15010 SS Date from 1986.
I wore that watch during all of my written promotional examinations and scored well on them all. When the time came a few years ago to take the Chief test, I attended a study group to prepare. Since the test was an oral presentation in front of a panel of experts, we were advised to attend the final class dressed as we would during the test. I had on my suit and of course my lucky Rolex Date. The instructor told me the suit was perfect but not to wear the Rolex! Well, I paid good money for his expertise and I did not wear the watch to the test. After the test I pulled the watch out of my pocket and strapped that lucky SOB back on! And BTW, I received the highest score and the promotion! dave
