Alert - CL Daytona
This idiot actually contacted me. I guess he can't get a sucker to call, so he is approaching buyers. Be careful. This is the e-mail address:
ugo tombolini investments <[email protected]> This is the watch: http://statesboro.craigslist.org/jwl/3070223782.html Google the phone number, and see what comes up. Be careful, folks. Best, Mike

Not so sure it's a scammer looking at it or searching the phone number. Just because the word "replica" pops up on a "list-alert" in the same result as this phone number doesn't mean it is associated with this guy directly, and when I go to the link, there's no listing of any of his watches to substantiate it. It looks like old info cropping up mashed together from old page hits, proving nothing. Other searches, including his website, seem to suggest he may not be a crook.
I'm not saying one shouldn't be careful, but I don't know if I must automatically agree that the guy is an idiot or a crook. Maybe some are uncomfortable or think it's wrong to approach buyers even when a seller is legitimate, but it doesn't make him a crook just because it raises flags. Not the seller for you, but maybe not a bad seller. I'll wait and see what happens on this one. Jury's still out far as I'm concerned. Too many too willing to brand people as crooks or scammers for the slightest of reasons. Again, not saying it couldn't go either way, just that my search came up suggesting it looks more honest than crooked. |

The CL listing is for Kings Jewelry in Daytona Beach, Florida as is the phone number.
Ugo Tombolini Investments is in Houston, Texas. Why is a guy in Houston contacting you about a watch in Florida? I'm confused.

That's why I posted this. So that those with less experience dealing with scammer scum wouldn't fall for a deal too good to be true. CL is somewhat of cesspool. Since the question occasionally arises in regard to great deals on CL, little lessons like this may save some heartache.
