New Sea-Dweller

Just got a new SD - Z serial number. My first Rolex (have been wearing an IWC geezer auto). Couple of questions:
- Any difference b/w the Z and M versions
- What should be in my box?

While I bought it from an AD and the watch has all of the protective stickers, I want to make sure nothing was forgotten and confirm that I don't / shouldn't care which serial number it is.

Thanks much!

Best
Moss

It's my understanding all the Ms have the RRR branding. Early Zs didn't.

Congrats!

Other than the normal paperwork and booklets it should have the SD kit--dive table, long extension and tool in a green wallet.

Welcome to TRF!

The Full Package should contain:
  1. Outer cardboard sleeve
  2. Outer box (beige cardboard)
  3. Inner box (green with plastic wavy lines on the lid)
  4. The Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 watch
  5. Suede cloth cover for the watch
  6. Hangtag, green with serial number on it
  7. COSC tag
  8. CCC (Credit Card Certificate), with the serial number, date, model number, AD name and mostly with YOUR name and address on it, too (some AD's give you the choice of NOT having your name put on the CCC)
  9. Leather cover for the CCC
  10. Booklet "Your Rolex Oyster" + "Rolex Submariner" booklet. Some countries: Also a holder for the booklets, but not in Denmark for instance
  11. Booklet: "Translation" (the COSC specs in various languages - was in the tool set leather wallet in my package)
  12. Some countries: Rolex polishing cloth (not in Denmark)
  13. SD tool set (leather wallet), including the tool itself which consists of a screwdriver in one end and a pin remover in the other end (INSIDE the tool - remove the pin remover - there is a blackened spare screw. Also in the tool set there is an extra long diver's extension link marked "L" and the Buehlmann table. In my SD tool set there was also a calendar.

The SD does not have the CRB (= Chapter Ring Branding - "ROLEXROLEX" on the edge angled at the dial), yet, but has a clear caseback sticker as compared to the green hologram sticker (introduced in mid Z-series)

I personally wouldn't mind the CRB branding but would not like center links polished , too scratch prone

Bo is correct. It is critical you make sure you have No.4 !!

The Z is indetical to the M series, so do not worry. The Guarantee starts from the date on the certificate. For a watch designed to last a 100 years and more, a couple of months is nothing!

By the way, good luck and wear it with pride.

I have not regretted my choice of the SD for one second.

I would be mad as hell if I got home and no SD in the box!

Thanks to all

Thanks much! Have been looking at it for awhile and finally found an occasion to pull the trigger.

Sorry for the newbie questions - I know the answers were elsewhere out here but could not find them.

Thanks again!

I think you will find that in the change to the M series some Z's got the CRB and some M's might not have. Typical Rolex parts system. Eventually all M's will have the CRB as Rolex eventually finds it's last hidden box of Z cases - probably next year.
