Question For Experts

Hi Everyone

I have been checking out Rolex Sports Models and noticed on some the Mercedes Symbol on the end of the hour hand.

It could be a peace symbol or tuning fork symbol or a Mercedes Benz symbol.

What is that symbol in reality?

Why is it there?

Thanks

don
