to the OP, try some Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish ($7 at most auto stores). I used this to remove some scratches on my SubC bracelet and case back. I just used a little compound on a Q-tip and applied firm pressure, viola! scratches gone and didn't effect the brushed look at all. Worth a shot at only $7 and you can DIY.

and when I say "little" I mean little. The compound is white in color and is barely visible on the Q-tip but it's there when you rub. Let me know if this works for you.
