Why no love for the IWC Vintage Ingenieur?

I'll readily admit I've never tried one on in person yet, no AD never seem to have them in stock, but then again I haven't really heard anyone talk about them here on TRF either. Why no love?

The hands/style are a bit of an acquired taste, but the design is rather reserved and attractive IMO; the size good at 42.5mm; in-house movement; good pedigree/history; and it is water resistant to 120m thus it would make a good everyday beater. More specs at http://www.iwc.com/en/collection/vintage/IW3233/

[Photo cred: Dimer over at the WUS IWC forum)

Anyone ever owned or handles one? Thoughts and comments?

Cheers,

Patrick

Nice looking watch Patrick. For me it isn't that there is no love just not one that ever grabbed me. If you like it--go for it--again it looks nice!

I love this watch a lot and tried it no less than five times... but it's just too big for me...
Great shots and congrats on the purchase!

Pretty watch. Still don't understand why IWC has upsized the Ingenieur line to the point that they are all absurdly large.

I don't know. It looks like a dress watch, but at 42,5 its pretty big. In comparison to the other Ingenieurs it looks a bit dull as well IMO.

Very nice watch.
Not for me but still nice.

I really like the Vintage Pilot but
it is really a bit big for my wrists.

I agree. All the IWC VC watches are great looking but too large. They could have been a home run, but for me they're a strikeout.

They're chasing a fad, and have done it to all their watches. They no longer sell a single watch (yep not one) under 40mm.

I love everything about it except the exhibition case back. Is an Ingenieur still an Ingenieur if it's not antimagnetic.

Do they even offer an antimagnetic Inge these days? The last model I know for sure was antimagnetic was Ref 3227.

Agreed, I would love to get a NOS 42.5mm Ingenieur.

Love it. It has been said already that at over 42mm it's a bit big for a dress watch and i hear it's a little thick too? This and the AMG's are my favourite Inge's
