Strap vs Bracelet

Do youll feel there are some brands that just look better with one over the other?

You are def. influenced by how they are normally shown (rolex on a bracelet) but there are some brands that have a more even split between the two.

I only care for my rolex sports models on its bracelet, and I only care for a Panerai if it is on a leather band.

For some reason Panerai and AP's to me just look perfect with the contrast between materials from being on a strap/band. I was contemplating getting the bracelet for my Diver, but am actually not in love with it. I realllllly like the bracelet, just as though I really liked the bracelet for a Panerai, but I think in general......AP's look better on a strap of sorts.

Therefore...I am thinking of picking up a black hornback > bracelet.

Thoughts? Anyone else have some generalized opinions on the subject?

I don't think the ROO models look good on a bracelet. The smaller ROC's look great (I have the 26300), but just doesn't work the same for the bigger ones. The hornback is a great strap, should look fantastic.

Rolex... Bracelet
Panerai... Strap
Patek... Strap
ALS... Strap
JLC... Strap
VC... Strap

Uh... I'm noticing a pattern. AP - strap.

My only bracelets are the two Rolex. I'm definitely a soft dark leather fan.

I prefer the ROO's on strap, But owning a bracelet lets me change them up occasionally.
The Diver does look the best on bracelet though.

I prefer RO with bracelet and ROO with strap/leather. The only problem of the hornback strap is that my wrist is too small for them.

For me it depends on the watch.

Some watches like a Rolex, although I prefer on a bracelet, they look fine on a strap too.

Watches such as the AP RO and Patek Nautilus, since they started out as having an integrated bracelet, I would only buy them on a bracelet. They just always look incomplete to me on a strap.

As for the ROO, I like it better on a bracelet, but I imagine on some of the really large ones a strap is probably more comfortable.

Like the RO on a bracelet but bought a conversion kit that I'm now nervous about using. My PAM and cartier are on straps which I prefer and all my rolexes are bracelets.

Leave the RO on the bracelet, don't mess with a good thing :)

I tried on a ROC on a bracelet and I loved it. But I will always keep my ROO on a strap. That's just me. Everyone has their own taste as to what looks good. My Hornback is a little big for my wrist but it's not really noticeable.

I plan on picking up a Diver and a Panda. I will go for the Panda on a bracelet, and the diver on the rubber strap. But I may pick up a bracelet for the diver to mix things up.

Great choices on these two!
However I would recommend you to get the Panda on strap and add the bracelet later, The bracelet is cheaper that way and the strap kit (plots, screws, strap and Clasp are pretty pricey to add)
