That's totally my thinking. I know it's a gorgeous watch, and I love it. But it's been sitting in the safe deposit box for months! MONTHS!

Not only am I afraid of scuffing it up, but it just wouldn't look right wearing it in my uber-casual work environment. I mean, most days, I wear cargo shorts and a t-shirt. Think about it.

So she sits... and sits... and I'm sad. :( At the same time, maybe it's best that I keep her tucked away for formal events? Kind of makes me appreciate the watch more...?

My work gear is even LESS formal then yours... That being said, a few years ago I used keep my only Rolex (SS/PT Yachty) "tucked away for formal events". Problem was, not that many events came around for me. Then I decided, I spent all this $$$ on this nice watch (prolly only 1/4 of what you spent on yours) why should I NOT wear it?
And so it began... Ive been wearing a nice watch every day since! I'm the guy in gym clothes rocking a Rolex or AP.
TBH, I appreciate my watches way more now then I did when I wasn't wearing them.
My one exception to the above was my Patek that was strictly a traditional "dress" watch... I wore it for my engagement photos, let my good friend wear it for his wedding, wore it for MY wedding, then got rid of it for my first AP... And I NEVER looked back or second guessed my decision to dump it.

If you want to have a Rolex , Daytona is the watch. Its always good to add a new collection and keep the daytona. But if you have to have one only, then step up to AP. That my 5 cents.

Well, to be honest, I originally thought about saving up and adding a RO early next year, but I got to thinking I could get one today if I dumped the Daytona.

Now you've kind of got me on the fence again... I definitely want a Daytona in my collection. Just not sure if WG would serve me as well as SS given my fears about scuffing.

That's an awesome collection you have there! The 116688 is on my long-list of must-haves, too! IMO it's the best looking YG Rolex ever made.

Flip your Daytona and get an AP, then save up and get yourself a SS Daytona.

Couldn't agree more. Got an AP on the way to add to my collection but a stainless Daytona is on my radar. Can't go wrong with a SS Daytona.

You can try to sell yours on your own, post on TRF sales. Or call a dealer that has the watch you want and see what kind of trade deal they can work you.

I once had a Daytona sitting in the safe for six moths since i bought it and wore it only twice, cos it's a bit to small as compared with the rest of my collections. Hence, the inevitable, and sold it. Not that I have anything against Rolex, I still wear my DSSD & Sub on rotation basis.

I am now aiming for a new ROO 44mm ceramic.

Go for it! It will surely look great on your wrist.
Trade for the ROO ceramic version to ease your scuffing fears.
