Bad experience with satintime (Complaint)

It has taken me a long while to post this because I wanted to believe that the person I am writing this on would do the right thing. However, he has gone incommunicado and no longer replies to any of my emails or ebay messages.

This person is Bryan Hibbins from satintime ([email protected]). On this forum, he is known as bry1975 and on ebay, he is dr-poc. He has plenty of positive feedback on ebay but seemed to have stopped selling there recently.

I have paid Bryan GBP40 in January this year for a Kirium bezel remover. He shared he intended to fabricate a few of these as there seems to be demand for such a tool and being an owner of a few Kiriums, I decided to get one from him. However, as months passed, it became obvious that he wasn’t going to make one. He kept providing excuses that the project is still under works and he is looking for funding. A few times he promised to refund me the money but never got to it saying that he was “skint” and asked to delay repayment. All these while he was still selling stuff on ebay.

I empathized with him as prior to this, I had good dealings with him in the past and thought that he would make it right and repay me when he has the funds. The last I communicated with him was in June and he said he would get a day job to make ends meet. He also said he did a DLC job for a Rolex and would be paid soon. I didn't mind waiting a little more as I didn’t want to pressure a guy that was already down on his luck. However, since then, I have not heard from him. I have tried emailing and messaging him on ebay these past few weeks but to no avail.

At this juncture, I don’t think I will ever be getting back my 40 quids. It’s not a lot of money, which raises the point on why he did not prioritize paying me back after so many months.

If you have dealings with Bryan or has any intention to deal with him, I’d strongly suggest proceeding with caution.

If you would like validate what is written above, I have emails and messages to support it.

Sounds like a very bad customer service, I hope you'll be able to get your money back (however small of an amount it can be) and I hope people will be careful with this seller.

It does appear the chap has curtailed TRF activity since March but there does not appear to be any eBay member profile named "dr-poc".

Kevin,

Still working on the design as not many firms want to take on the project and as you know I've been unemployed and basically broke. :(

Basic clamp design below-

P.S. I'm in work now so starting to get my monies sorted.

Bry

Pay the guy his money back instead of showing drawings.

It's Jason. Guess I am not the only person you owe money to for a bezel remover.

Sorry, at this point, I am no longer sympathetic. It's not a lot of money. I find it hard to believe you are unable to refund me 40 quids after 8 long months.

Paypal me the refund so that we can both move on.

re

And the last DLC'D Rolex by myself.

DLC'D for Steve, Birmingham.

With a brand new glass and gasket the watch passed 120metres easily.

I don't have a pic of the glass fitted but can ask Steve no problem as he wants his other Rolex Sub DLC'D.

I am personally getting upset when I am hearing that a guy owes money for 8 months and that person shows up without any apologize and brags around with things that he claims having done or will do.

He can afford to paint a watch black ( ruining it , me thinks , but anyway) , but he cannot pay back 40 quid ??

And what's the point of all these posts and drawings ?

Bryan, if you think you can avoid the repayment of the OP, and at the same time try to drum up business by posting your wares, you are sorely mistaken!!
You have a very short window to address the refund..........

Funny that he is still talking about the Rolex he DLC-ed. I wouldn't trust him with my Rolex or any other watch for that matter.

I should consider myself "lucky" that the amount is not substantial. Hopefully this thread will help steer others away from him.
