Pam stopped winding on winder
Im totally perplexed about this situation. I have a wolf quattro winder with most of my consistantly worn watches in it. Whenever my Pam is put on it, it stops winding and goes dead. Even when I can see the rotator is active and spinning the watch, it still doesnt wind.
When I wear the watch after a few hours I can see it goes to full(its a 90 with power reserve). When I let the watch sit for a day or so and then wear it again it winds up again and hasnt lost any time(or gained any). I never use the same winding cuff in a row as I swap from watch to watch and put the prior watch on the cuff of the one Im taking out. This takes away any response that its a specific winder of the four that isnt working. I got the watch in 2007 and didnt think it would have worn down that fast in terms of needing a service. Any ideas? |

I'd be interested in any responses given.
I have same problem with my Daytona, keeps perfect time on my wrist and stays charged but put it on the winder and it stops after 2 days even if I fully wind it before putting in the winder. My PAM312 and GMT IIc both keep their charge in the winder so like you it's not a problem with the winder. I posted a similar thread in General Rolex but basically just got told not to use a winder Only had one sensible response which was that something in the mechanism might be sticking slightly and the winder didn't move the watch vigorously enough unlike when watch is on your arm. |

Funny thing is when I just went to look at my watch, the power reserve said it was almost a third wound and the second hand was ticking. It was way behind and still had the 18th as the date. Its weird, it will wind apparently sometimes and other times not at all.

Could it be that your winder is set bi-directional while the movement winds unidirectional.

The reality is that winders are made for watches with multiple complications. For a watch like the 90, I would let it rest and avoid the wear a tear when not on the wrist.

Yeah, I have every one set for bi-winding. How could this be the only watch in my collection that winds only one way? Oh, and since I posted this thread, the watch has been ticking away like normal...go figure.
