ebay and rolex search

Hello folks
I noticed recently that there is something wrong with the ebay search engine
For instance if you type "rolex 16610" it shows much less results than it should...same for any search phrase
Anyone else has noticed that? Any solution?

Maybe Industrial protective actions

Ebay.co.uk is normal

Cheers

A lot of people selling Rolex watches don't know much about them including model numbers so just type in Rolex submariner and lots more will come up.

Rolex submariner doesnt work either
Even if you just type "rolex" the results are 100 times less than they should be

ebay.co.uk works properly

Don't forget that sellers can "block" sales to certain continents and countries. Is it possible the eBay search engine has been upgraded to help you see just the items you can bid on?

I have searched ebay for Rolex's a number of times (but have only bought one, a SS date for my fiance), and always get a lot of results. It is true that a lot of sellers aren't experts so the listing may not include the reference number. That being said, I have been given (and would give) the advice that one should never buy a watch off ebay without a clear and high def picture of the movement, caseback and sides of the case, along with great seller feedback on high price watches in the past. People that meet these criteria usually include ref numbers in listings, so you may be better of with a smaller list of better options by searching a ref number. Personally, I have never bought a watch on ebay that didn't meet the above criteria AND come from a brick and mortar store, but the last part may just be my paranoia.

Maybe you should contact eBay regarding this issue?

I believe it may depend on the location of the world you're searching on as Padi (Peter) mentioned above. When I do a search for Rolex 5500 I get 35 results
