Question re Dayjust numerics on the dial
does anybody know why the Datejust face shows Roman 4 as "IIII", rather the correct Roman numericla of "IV"?

The tradition with clocks for centuries has been to use IIII. It is likely because of symmetry and balance on the dial.
It isn't a Rolex thing, they are just being traditional..

Very common on most watches by most brands where the Romans are used.
Search TRF for prior threads. Basically all reasons stated above. |

Why are the Romans upside down from 4 to 8 on some dials?
