Looks awesome, Jeff!

On the pic of the clasp shot, the fit looks a bit tight, though.

It looks tighter in the pic than it actually is. I can flick the watch around on my wrist a good bit.

I pose the following without intent to offend.

I am very interested in obtaining a PAM in 2008 (I just bought a T/T BLUE SUB).

On to the subject matter: I want to learn as much as I can about the PAM....is the "shoe(s)" you just bought genuine?

Thank you in advance for understanding and I look forward to your reply.

Stunning watch..............best looking damn watch out there, BAR NONE.

No, this is not a genuine Panerai strap. This strap was made by a company named Strap Works. I'm really impressed by the quality. Here's a link to their Web site; http://www.strap-works.com/

Love that Pam. And that strap definitely looks great with it. The buckle is particularly sharp on that.

Jeff, Don't be afraid of the rubber strap that came with that beauty.
The rubber is very comfortable & a very underrated strap. Plus makes your watch very water friendly.
Only issue I have with the rubber, is getting the screw in the buckle out easily.
Since you have your "daily wearer" with the SW, you could leave the buckle in the rubber, then in about 20 seconds, you can swap over as needed. That is what I do with my 233.

This is exactly what I'll do . It's nice having a regular buckle on the SW strap. This way I don't have to swap the deployant on a regular basis. I'd hate to strip or damage the tiny screw on the deployant from always messing with it. Like you said, this way I can swap the straps out in a matter of seconds. I'll hardly ever wear the OEM croc strap.

I actually bought this strap second-hand on Paneristi. I was able to save quite a bit of $ by getting it there. I'm so impressed that I'll definitely buy my next strap directly from the SW Web site.

Jeff
I also leave the deployant on the rubber strap. With all other straps I use buckles.

Check out the other strap makers before you get your next one, maybe try a couple more second hand ones then go for a new one once you know what you like. You can also sell the straps you are not keen on really easily. Once you figure out which size fits, you can order that from most of the strap makers. Eg for me, my order is

24/24 (width)
125/80 (length)
holes: 46-56-66-76-86

And the strap makers will build you exactly what you want.

With buckles you can fine tune the fit as well ..

The straight pin will give a slightly tighter fit than the bent pin on the same strap. Its a mm or so but you can really fine tune the strap fit.

Have fun Mate

Love the 164
