Hi all, one thing I have noticed on this forum in the short time I have been here is how well dressed so many members are. That is my subjective opinion, btw.
So, I though I would post this question and ask for some help from the more sartorial inclined among you.

I am looking for a new pair of boots. I am interested to see what kind of boots you have and if you could post a photo of them as well. Of course, if your photo happens to include your time piece, that would be nice as well.

Anyway, I am looking for some boots and they could be dressy, or rugged.
But they would be of the non work, or cowboy variety.

Never limit yourself to just one style I say.

I think it all depends what kind of boot your looking for and how much you willing to pay. Are you looking for dress, work, or cowboy boots? Something with rubber or leather soles?

Alden has a nice little range of boots both in the Indy and some of their dress boots in cordovan are really nice.

The Wolverine 1K and the limited cordovan 721 and 744 are real nice.

If you dont mind breaking a pair in, then Redwing makes a nice one with their GT Beckmans or Iron Ranger boots.

I have a few Lucchese cowboy boots which I really like.

Thanks for the link and input Dan, I will check it out the link. I am open to all styles except actual steel toed work type boots, or Cowboy boots. Both of those I would not have a place to wear. Cheers!

I picked up a pair of ariat boots last Christmas and I love them. Ariat makes great boots from work to cowboy.

Just happened to see some Grenson's last night that looked great. Love these, they are like a boot and brogue all rolled into one.

You can not go wrong buying a pair of Red Wing Boots but make certain they are one's made here in America. Also Frye Boots are well made.....or at least the pair I own are so check them!!Take it easy.....Leo

Brouge boots are awesome, the Fred has got fairly oversized Brouging and heavy duty souls but some of their other models are more delicate.

I've seen the Grenson's before and they do look nice. I'm considering somethin like this next. The Alden's are real nice by the way, you won't be sorry. Something about that Horween leather I really like. The sizing on these are just like the 1000 mile boots. Half size less than normal.

They take a bit to wear in but after they do I've never worn anything better. Really like them.

3 years ago I sacrificed a pair to the puppy. The left shoe became his chew-toy of choice. The right remained unscathed.

I have a lot of boots. Primarily for hiking and hunting. Some I wear and recommend are Chippewa (my snake boots), Danner (hiking and everyday casual wear - I like the Mountain Light II - very comfortable), and Alico (I have the Guide hikers - hard core). The Alico's are ultra stiff Norwegian Welt construction, and take a long time to break in, but they are the most well made pair of hiking boots I have ever owned, bar none.

There are lots of good brands, and lots of good boots. Good luck.

I agree with Leo 100%. Also, I have just bought a pair of Danner boots. I bought the US made military boot. Extremely comfortable, durable and versatile.

Love Lucchese. These are my Anteaters... Can't buy them anymore as they are on the endangered species list. Looking pretty rugged here, but had them polished Saturday night and they look good as new now.

Love the Grenson Fred’s boot. Like Lion said, look at the Red Wing boots that are made here in the U.S. In fact, be on the lookout for some of the American made Red Wings that are only available in Asia. Red Wing exports certain high-end boots to Japan that are not sold in the U.S. Good luck!

I just ordered 2 more pairs of Lucchese boots... Caiman Belly and Full Quill Ostrich. Being custom hand-made, they will take 8-10 weeks to make.

I know they will be worth the wait though.
