First One... Took 32 Years!
Since I was a little kid I've wanted a Rolex. My dad wore a Daytona all his adult life. It was the first thing of his that he allowed me to play with, allowing me to start and stop the chronograph while he took care of me on Saturdays while mom went to the beauty parlor.
Since I was 17 and walked into Crissons in Bermuda I've wanted a Submariner. Oh yes, in my thirties I strayed and bought a Breitling Chronomat. There was my brief flirtation with Tag. But really if you pushed me up against the wall in the middle of the night and asked me what I really wanted; I wanted a Sub. It's 32 years ago that at 17 year old boy walked to Crissons.... Straight off of the cruise ship celebrating high school graduation, and this weekend is my 49th birthday. This year we sold the family home and all of us moved to a lovely suburb called Maplewood. To coin a phrase I had brass in pocket this birthday. I don't know if I'll ever have another opportunity like I had today and I don't see myself becoming a collector. That's right now right this very minute on this day on this planet this 49 year old boy got what he wanted...... Thank you Steven79...... Thank you TRF, and thanks to my wife Sandy who said GO FOR IT.  Now I'm going to go make love to my wife and go out for sumptuous Chinese banquet.
