A huge YES, for Black SS Sub.
This thing oozes style, whatever the attire you wear it with. In fact one thing that attracted me to buying my SubC is how stylish it is with a suit. I have a nice dress watch- an Omega Orbis De Ville Hour Vision - the one with the gorgeous blue dial, but I find now that I end up wearing my SubC daily instead, with my suit. |

I think a sub would go well with any suit unless the occasion is ultra formal w ultra wealthy people or people where the sub would be out of place. I second both notions that the sub is jewelry and that a date just or something similar may fit some situations better.
nice thing about a dress Rolex is it wears well casually and shines with dress attire. |

Yes as long as its the classic Sub, the LV is a bit harder to get away with.

If you are in shape and are a triathlete or a cyclist the I'd say he'll yeah!
If you have not seen the gym in like ever te stick to the date just or day date...

IMO, it wouldn't go with a suit. Datejust or DD would match, but not a sub.

Subs go great with suits. I wear mine with a suit all the time and I don't feel like it's out of place or weird.

I think it comes down to size - Both of the watch and the person wearing the watch. For an average size guy, I don't think a classic Sub would be a problem, especially with a strap. Same goes for the 40 mm Explorer II or GMT. I don't know about the new ones. For a business suit for work, I'd choose a classic Submariner over the new big Datejust for instance. In that case bling outdoes size.

If you want to score, back in my day i just put on the old submariner or sea dweller, put on my nice black suit, get the black Raybans and you will have every chick at your feet my friend.

I have a few french cuff shirts that I cannot get the sub under. I am working on getting a date or datejust (I am owed one) to wear for such occasions.

Suits/ semi-formal: 16753 Family events/casual: 16710 D serial Anything else/daily banger: Omega SMP 2531.80 (my 1st "quality" watch) I'm a fan a of what I have - Iay add to it but those 3 are lifers. |

C'mon, Sub with a suit? The Sub is a tool watch, a wet suit or jeans and T-shirt watch.
When a Sub is worn with a suit, the wearer becomes the tool instead of the watch. |

What a crass and classless comment. Not the sort of decorum we like to maintain around here.

Yikes, thought I was being funny. That backfired...
While I do personally prefer a dressier watch with a suit, I don't really think a Sub is inappropriate (see earlier post). I couldn't resist the double meaning of "tool" but pre-coffee it sounded funnier in my pea-brain than it sounds now. Please accept my heartfelt apology for what turned out to be an insulting, classless comment to some. I'll turn on the think-button next time, I promise. |
