Leather Nato Straps on Sub pic request and feedback

Hi everyone!

I've been wanting to try Leather NATO strap on my 14060M but cannot decide which one to get. I've seen nice Cordovan NATO style straps in the FS section and the Gunny NATO is also nice.

They look fairly long and I wonder whether they'll fit my 6.25" wrist.

I would appreciate any pics and/or feedback. Thanks in advance!

it made me wanna get one, I love em

I think Sub's were meant for Nato,
Every other watch so far I hated on Nato

1665 on a Gunny Nato that I cut to avoid having to thread the strap back through the rings. I have worn my Gunny Nato on a bunch of different vintage and newer Rolex models.

You can always contact Peter Gunny and get a custom made Natp strap to Your wrist size.

He just finished doing one for me.

The main problem you are going to have is forcing the end pins back in the holes when you fit a leather NATO. I think they look great but the 20mm pins are substantial and won't let a leather NATO slide under. You would have to take the pins out and insert them back in with the strap in place. Of course you could get some thinner pins but it's sort of defeating the object. The NATO's were worn originally because of service watches in the forces having thick fixed lugs. Put on a nylon NATO strap and there's no way it's going to get yanked off your wrist. I have a NATO on my non date Sub at the moment but after a couple of weeks I think " who am I kidding?"and go back to the bracelet. Another option in a regular cordovan strap like Corvus Watch do? It gives the watch that nice vintage look without it being too contrived?

Attila Aszodi makes a shell cordovan Nato that is thin enough to go with standard pins. Your issue will be having too much strap on the standard length. He does custom also. Here's mine

I don't have a Sub but I do have a Yacht-Master I put on leather nato/zulu. I have a 6.5 wrist for the record...

I really liked the way it looked and it was comfortable, but as a 1 watch guy that basically wears it through 24/7 of an active lifestyle, I didn't like the fact that it wasn't waterproof. That was my only complaint.
