James Bond / Goldfinger
Here's a screen capture from the opening of 'Goldfinger'. What can you experts tell me? Sorry the quality isn't the greatest.

I think that no crown sub was owned by Cubby Broccoli & he loaned it to Connery to wear in the film

What do you want to know?
There are entire websites dedicated to Bond watches that have an insane amount of detail about this exact watch...including more than you'd ever want to know about the strap.

many people think that it's a 5510 ...
in any case the 6538 has been produced from 1954 ( with case numbers under 100.000 ) up to 1959 ( case numbers in the range of 450.000 ) ... but ALLWAYS and ONLY with a movement belonging to the 1030 series ( maybe someone has "lost" a terrific discussion about this question in another forum ). |

x2 what I love is that it was that casual and unplanned, with a too-narrow 'NATO' strap, to boot. And yet, it is now hailed as some sort of grail, and the look replicated, down to the skinny 'school-boy' strap and exposed spring-bars! Trying a bit too hard, methinks... It could have been anything on that day.

I've read it's still in the Broccoli family but it doesn't sound as though any watch experts have ever been allowed to examine it closely. In that regard, I guess there's some still some mystery to it but maybe I'm wrong.
I know there's other info out there on it, just thought the topic might be a fun diversion. And besides, whether it should be or not, there's no denying it's one of the iconic watches of pop culture.
