Sea dweller 16660 question

I bought this lovely 16660 sea dweller the other day and I love it except the glass has a very fine scratch across the centre, can anybody recommend anything to get this out please?

Cheers Mick

That is a Beauty. I think the only thing harder than a sapphire crystal is a diamond so I would be thinking jeweler's diamond paste but I would definitely have a professional do it. I would think the RSC in London is your best bet. Good Luck -Ron

I've seen some DIY sapphire polishing articles online. It involves buying diamond polishing paste and polishing it. I agree with ronbo710, have the RSC deal with it. The one article I read showed how nasty you finger tips can get if you don't protect them while working with the paste.

Myself would not bother the scratch in the picture my old eyes cannot see,if it bugs you wait till watch needs a service.Have the RSC change it then as they have to strip watch down to service it so no labour charge.

Many thanks.
I think I will leave it as is until I get it serviced.
Cheers for the advice.

beauty - maybe a decent local jeweller could have a look at it for you. No harm in asking.

This is a lovely watch.

Silly question time. I know the SD and the Sub date are very closely 'related'. I recently saw a 16800 Sub with a Mk2 dial which, if I remember correctly, looked very similar to this lovely watch. Are they of the same period which I think is the early 1980s?
