TT is not for everyone. But SS is virtually for everyone, so they are always in higher demand. The gold and TT models lose more value quicker, in my experience.

I'm a fan of both TT & SS. It seems that the trend today is towards SS. Many perceive TT as a older mans watch. I disagree.

I like both SS and TT and both can be used from sport to dress.

I disagree that TT is an old man's watch as it can be rather youthful IMO.

I have both types. But somehow I have got compliments while wearing TT and none when I was wearing the SS. Feels good when my watch got complimented.

SS is for everyday wear but I do get bored after wearing the SS for a week or two which I will switch to my TT until I gets too happy and need some toning down.

However, for Daytona, I advise you to buy a SS. If you look through the internet, its almost like a taboo to buy Daytona in metals other than full SS :). But then again, you probably will create another white dial vs black dial post.

TT fan here

I prefer the TT and I think it looks particularly nice on the Daytona.

How was the generalization formed about only old man's watch? I obviously disagree and I am 35 and have been wearing TT for years.

I have always been told I had an "old soul" so take that for what its worth.

I agree that TT isn't for all, and that's fine. I like it though. As far as being an "old man's" watch, I don't know, I'm 38 and this is my daily wear watch. Is 38 old?

I didn't like TT in 25 years of collecting until I found a TT DJ (near mint) in an Oysterquartz case and a cal. 1570 automatic movement, the reference 1630. I had only heard of these, and when I saw it, wow, loved it. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1351117778.907162.jpg

Although I haven't added another TT, the door is wide open and I'd certainly consider it.

In my late 20's I wore a black TT then a TT blue Serti until I got the AP bug in my early 30's. sold that after awhile. went through about every Rolex model there is and now in my late 40's back to a blue TT. Amoung a few others.......I've wanted to get back to being a one watch guy but can't make up my mind which one is the "one".
One reason I like the TT, they seem a bit old school. Reminds me of my 20's when I was trying to find way as a young man.
Now if only I had kept my first Rolex, an R serial sub date I paid $1500 for new....

Thinking of swapping my 16610LV for a blue 16613. Does anyone know if the gold centerlinks are solid gold or are they hollow?

Big mistake. The prices of the LV are starting to skyrocket now. The hollow gold links are garbage. My buddy is already griping about his 4 year old TT sub with hollow links.
