I've convinced myself that my 1680 is smaller than my 16800, but it's only a fraction smaller, though I did put both watches on the scale ,the 1680 is lighter, perhaps it's the plastic crystal... Looking at the dial it sure appears smaller than my other Rolex watches, except for the Tudor from 1966. Here are some photos:

1 my 16800 and a Tourneau for sale 1680 (aka the one that got away)...
2 my Tudor7928 vs my other 16800 non-matte (ok, I am losing focus here)
3 my 16800 matte vs my GMT (the one I traded)...

1680 gets my vote okay! I have had mine 3 years now and love switching back to it from my Explorer 42mm or Speedmaster PRO. Definitely an iconic Sub!
