Paul Newman wearing an automatic black dial Daytona

All pushers unscrewed in the typical Newman-style!

Well one thing's for sure..... time definitely waits for no man........ not even the great Paul Newman.....

When famous people drop out of the spot light, it's always a shock when they reappear years later especially when you have old films constantly being played on TV to remind you of their younger days.....

Paul was 83 when he died in 2008 so that must have been taken around that time..... So still looking pretty good for an Octogenarian And one of my favourite actors of all time.....cool Daytona too

Hard to recognize him in that pic, saw him in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid the other night. I wonder why the crown is unscrewed though.

nice pic. Thanks for posting.

looks like he must have had several throughout his years.

makes one wonder if in 30 years, some rolex models will be known as the 'afleck', 'pitt' or 'craig' models for collectors....? some reason, i doubt it.

An American classic. Never seen that pic before. I have seen him wearing a WG black dial Daytona on a black strap.

He would have been 87 on January 26th.

EDIT: January 26th of this year, that is, as he was born in 1925.

Maybe he lost a bit of dexterity in his later years, and left it unscrewed because he wasn't active enough to keep it wound automatically. Not flattering, I know, and I'm not trying to diminish the luster on his shining star, but that's what happened to my grandfather late in years.
