A little help... do you think it's authentic?

Hi guys! I am in the south of Germany for some days and I found a good deal on a 116710LN from 2009 with box and papers... I wanted to ask you guys if the watch looks ok to your eyes! It would be nice to get some feedback from you. It's selling for 5000 euros (which is the cheapest one I have found in Germany). And I am able to go to an AD and do a face-to-face deal here in the city too.

Thanks in advance!

No expert but it looks good to me.

Just a heads up in case you can't find it later, this thread will most likely be moved to the "watch out" section

Looks OK but would be nice to see the GMT hand.

Thanks guys! I will be meeting the guy in person in 3 more hours. Going to his house. So I will report back later!

By the way, isn't it difficult to get a box? He's selling it now without box but with papers. And selling the box for extra money. Weird. Whatever. He's got 200 sales on e-bay. I think I will just look at the watch now, and pay him through e-bay.

Sounds a little weird, and maybe I should hold on.

Thanks for your comments! :-)

I'd pass, just on the "selling the box separately" business. Sounds like a bit of a cretin to me.

I don't like the gap between the end-links and case/lugs, which is very prominent on the back. Should be a better fit.

Whi is the seller? Do you have his nick? Maybe I could tell you, whether I have heard from him as a trusted seller. Try to negotiate that the box is included. Is this the one with Italian papers (look at the country code in the first line on the guarantee card)? Why pay him trough ebay?

You're right... it does sounds weird. In the conversation with him I asked him his mobile number three times and he never gave it. But when he asked mine, I did right away. I think I am really going to be passing this one. The price is good for Germany, but well. I guess I'll try to be more patient. Thanks!

End of the story is that I just sent him an email and I'm not meeting him.

Thank you all guys for the good advice.

EDIT: Kinda happy I did not go further. The guy just replied an email and revealed the kind of jackass he is "it seems to me that You can not afford a rolex."

IMHO selling the box separately is not a good sign, if you consider "buy the seller" which is important. I think you made the right choice as evidenced by the email you got back.

This man knows what he is talking about.

His anger at your unwillingness to take a risk on his watch is telling. Good for you for trusting your instinct. You will find a better deal WITH box and papers; probably here and without the arrogant attitude.

Just answer: "I can not afford buying something that might not be a Rolex".

You can just make it out through the top of the cyclops beneath the minute hand in the top picture.

Can you believe that I will be already in South America by that day?? I fly the day before.

Where do you find the info about these watch shows? I really want to know! Seems like great prices for a new watch here in Germany!

Thanks again!
