GMT bezel click feel vs. Sub

I have a 16710 and I'm lusting after adding a 14060m to my collection. I've never touched a sub in real life so I was hoping some of you could describe the feel of the sub's bezel (previous style not the ceramic one). The GMT feels almost like constant resistance with some detent at each increment. But I was hoping that the sub would provide a more crisp tool-like ratchet feel as I have experienced with other dive watches. I realize the sub only goes one way so its mechanism must differ somehow from the GMT.

Thanks,
Jeff

The subs have a uni-directoinal 120 clicks around the full rotation of the bezel just like most other dive watches. The GMT watches are bidirectional there bezels turn both ways

What I'm really trying to figure out is the feel, not the functionality. The gmt honestly doesnt thrill me in terms of feel, I would prefer something with a more crisp click that is a bit easier to turn. Just wondering if the sub might fit that bill.

Both of them use the same mechanism. The difference is in the control spring wirre. The GMT has a curved end that allows the bezel to "ratchet" in both directions. The Sub has a straight end that allows it to "ratchet" in one direction, but the straight end of the wire catches in the bezel teeth if turned backwards.

If the bezel is tough to turn on your 16710 you can easily alleviate some of this by bending the tip of the click spring towards the center of the dial and then reinstall. I did this with my 16700 and it made it much easier to turn.

My 16700 (when I owned it) turned just as crisply as my 16800 (which had a uni-directional spring) after I modified the 16700. It felt so great that I actually purchased a 2nd GMT spring and have that in my 16800 now so that it is bi-directional like the 16700 was.

I find the ceramic sub bezel to be just that. Crisp, sharp click and easy to turn. No comparison the the older GMT in terms of feel.

I've always found the Sub bezels to ratchet a bit more abruptly and sharper than the GMTs. My 16710 is very smooth.

If you look under the bezel of the Sub, you will find a very steep and sharp metal pin pushed by a spring. It works a different shape of space and locks very precise to one direction.

The GMT has more of a roller like feeling to it. A round pin working rounder shapes of metal.

GMT's bezel turns with a THUD like noise and each click is foran hour.
The SUB's bezel is much harder to turn and has a tick noise to it and it
turns in much finer increments of 10 ticks per hour. To me, the GMT's bezel
is pretty unimpressive but the sub's or sd's bezel is extremely impressive.

But you got to keep in mind that both bezels serve different functions for two
very different watches so do not expect them to be the same or sound the same.
